There are two gateway cities to the Pantanal. Cuiaba for the North Pantanal and the Transpantaneira and Campo Grande for the South Pantanal. There are vrious options for flights I suggest using http://www.opodo.co.uk or http://www.expedia.com to check flight availability. However it might be cheaper to get a flight to Sao Paulo or Rio de Janeiro and then take a low cost airline from there.

Birdwatching in the Pantanal
Bird watching in the Pantanal is one of the greatest things a bird watching enthusiast could ever experience. This is because the place provides a wealth of magnificent bird life but it also presents you with the chance to see some amazing mammals and reptiles. Photography
The Pantanal is a wildlife photographer’s paradise and you should be able to get good pictures no matter what camera you have. However for best results I would recommend a DSLR and a long lens.
All the pictures I have taken on this website where taken with a Nikon D80 and a 70-300mm VR lens. I personally think that 300mm is a tad short and could have done with a bigger lens, but you also have to consider cost and ease of carrying it around. Capuchin Monkey

Jaguars are difficult to spot and your best chance is to take a boat trip on one of the rivers as they can be spotted relaxing on the river banks. We had to go out for 2 1/2 days to see this Jaguar. Unfortunately it was in the middle of the day and the lighting wasn't that good, but it was amazing to see this animal in the wild

A weekend in the Brecon Beacons.
My wife wanted to arrange a camping weekend and suggested the Brecon Beacons. I was a bit sceptical at first as I thought the drive to the Brecon Beacons would be too long for just a short break.
